MIIT Names Huazhong HNC-8 and HNC-10 Among 2026 Machine Tool Innovation Cases

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Equipment Industry Development Center has officially released its list of 2026 Machine Tool Innovation Product Typical Cases. Two CNC systems from Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control — the HNC-8 fully digital bus-based high-end CNC system and the HNC-10 intelligent CNC system — were both selected as representative cases of domestic high-end CNC technology.

The HNC-8 has been in volume production for years and equips tens of thousands of machine tools, serving as the workhorse of China's domestic high-end CNC systems. The HNC-10 goes a step further: it embeds AI chips and large language models, enabling adaptive process optimization, machining accuracy compensation, and fault prediction, and has already been deployed at scale across automotive, 3C electronics, and aerospace applications.

Industry data shows that China's CNC machine tool sales reached approximately RMB 61.7 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 14% year on year. Huazhong CNC's Q3 report reflects the same momentum: revenue for the first three quarters reached RMB 1.094 billion, up 23.84%, with the CNC system and machine tool segment growing 45.34% to RMB 829 million, while Q3 net profit rose 145.54% to RMB 53.9 million.

For precision parts manufacturers, the wider adoption of intelligent CNC systems in high-end machine tools will directly improve the efficiency, accuracy, and batch-to-batch consistency of complex part machining, further accelerating import substitution in high-end manufacturing.
